Meet The Neighbors: The Lee Family

The Lee Family lives in the North Conway area. Parallel to the city’s northern ridgeline, North Conway neighborhoods include those for first-time homeowners to large lots with sweeping views of the city and the Ozark and Ouachita Mountains.

Favorite restaurant?
There are too many to choose from, but our favorite would be Pasta Grill, especially for date nights. The food is delicious, and the ambiance is wonderful. We always get their spinach dip—it’s one of the best in town.

Favorite lunch spot?
One of our favorite lunch spots is Crosscreek. They have our favorite Triple Decker Club Sandwich and Cheesecake Brownies.

Favorite store?
We love TJ Maxx! It has everything we need, from clothing to décor. People from other cities, like Little Rock, even drive to the Conway location just to shop.

What is your favorite hobby or activity to do in or around Conway?
We love playing tennis as a family at the tennis center. We were so happy when it was built—it has brought our family together to enjoy a sport we love.

What’s your best memory of Conway?
One of our favorite memories is volunteering for Antioch Baptist Church’s Bethlehem Revisited and seeing so many familiar faces come through. It’s one of our favorite events during the Christmas season.

What trait do you admire most about Conway?
Even with how fast the town is growing, it still feels like a small, friendly city—it feels like home. We’ve lived in Little Rock, but it just doesn’t feel like home the way Conway does.

What do you hope for Conway in the future?
We hope to see continued growth in small businesses. It’s amazing how much the city has expanded over the past 20 years.

Favorite event in Conway?
Our favorite event is Toad Suck Daze. It’s a family tradition for us. It also really shows how much Conway has grown—the crowd gets bigger every year! Plus, you have to get the giant turkey leg and funnel cake.

Favorite thing about Conway?
We love the walking and biking trails. We enjoy being outdoors, so having safe, accessible trails with beautiful city views is a huge plus.

What is on your Conway bucket list?
There are so many new restaurants in town, and we hope to try as many as we can—it’s a good problem to have!

What new development or addition in Conway have you enjoyed most?
We love Veteran’s Plaza at Pompe Park on Prince Street. It’s a beautiful place to honor our veterans, and it also has a great walking trail.

What do you enjoy most about your area of Conway?
We love our neighbors. They’re all so friendly, and we love that Conway still has that southern hospitality—waving to each other when passing by and stopping for friendly chats.

How did you end up in Conway?
Jenny moved to Conway in the early 1990s when her family opened China Town restaurant, which they sold in 2018.
David moved to Conway in 2006, and he and Jenny got married later that year.

How would you describe Conway to someone who just moved here?
Conway is one of the fastest-growing cities, yet it still maintains a small-town, friendly atmosphere.

What is one thing a new Conwegian should know?
Conway is also known as the City of Colleges, and we love how focused the city is on academia.

Community involvement?
Our kids keep us busy with their extracurricular activities, so we’re involved in many club sports, Conway Public School sports, and band.

Where do your kids go to school, and why is your family proud to be a Wampus Cat, Bulldog, Eagle, or homeschooler?
Our kids go to Conway Public Schools. We’re proud to be Wampus Cats because of the school’s strong academics, competitive sports, and variety of extracurricular activities.

When family or friends come to visit, what is a must-do?
We have to show them all the roundabouts—LOL! We also love taking them to Stoby’s for breakfast. Their big fluffy pancakes, Big Breakfast Burritos, and, of course, their famous cinnamon rolls are a must.

Where do you work, and what industry are you in? How does your job give back to the community?
We own Bulgogi Korean BBQ, and Jenny also works PRN as a registered nurse. When we planned to open our restaurant, we decided that all our merchandise sales would go toward missions and giving back to the community. We love sponsoring various sports teams, clubs, and other local organizations whenever we can.
