In 2017, Conway will welcome a new mayor, a new university president, and a new utility CEO. Jamie Gates of the Conway Area Chamber of Commerce interviewed the three men who have a combined 40+ years of experience leading these three Conway institutions: Richie Arnold, Conway Corporation CEO (1998-2017); Tab Townsell, City of Conway Mayor (1998-2016); and Tom Courtway, president of the University of Central Arkansas (2011-2016).

Rik Sowell, Sowell Architects

Rik Sowell opened Sowell Architects in October 1995. During the last 20 years, Sowell Architects has designed hundreds of buildings in Arkansas, but the majority of his work has taken place in Conway. Every day, thousands of Conway area residents live, work, play, learn, shop, and worship in buildings designed by Rik and his team.

Israel Getzov, Conway Symphony Orchestra

The Conway Symphony Orchestra was founded more than 30 years ago. For the last 11 years, Israel "Izzy" Getzov has been its conductor. We spoke with him about how the symphony has changed since he began and about its work in the community.
